Old acrylic painting

When I first began painting I used traditional paint and canvas, I remember painting this one which still hangs on the wall in my spare room.

I tried to recreate her in a digital medium but I wasn’t up to speed digitally at that time.

I think I will attempt another one now that I have gained some more digital knowledge. It has always been my aim not to paint cartoonishly. My aim is to create something that looks like it was painted in a traditional way.

  1. As odd as it sounds, I think the brightness of the colours make digital artwork look less ‘real’. But then, the brightness also makes them more vivid. It’s a fine line to cross to get the balance right, but it can be done! It’s all fun, Elaine, isn’t it? 🙂
