I’ve been out to surprise my sister with a bag of self raising flour 🌟 she bought herself a food mixer recently and although she has made biscuits and pastry with plain flour she was longing to make a cake so I decided to give her some of mine.

I drove to her house and rang her, she answered her phone and I told her to look outside her window. Her face was a picture of shock then pleasure when she saw the flour ☺️ I placed it half way up her drive on the wall then stepped back.

I told her it was an early Christmas present and we had a chat, it was lovely to see her but I really wanted to give her a hug! But common sense prevailed and we said our goodbyes and I left her to her baking.

Never would I ever have thought that a bag of flour would give someone such pleasure, we are definitely living in strange times.

This afternoon I’ve been playing with the new art programme I bought and I’ve found lots of different tools for different effects. It even paints fur! It’s taking me along yet another painting journey which I’m not quite sure of yet. This type of painting requires yet another skill set!

This is a painting showing just a selection of the tools available. My cats look like they’ve been tumble dried lol.

  1. I love the richly magical feel of this one. Given that flour is like gold dust now you might want to check your sister hasn’t sold it on eBay for a small fortune 😂
It’s a lovely thing to be able to do by visiting your sister and thinking of her with the baking. xx

      1. You know my thoughts; you’re using a ‘template’ to create another piece of art, so I don’t think it’s cheating. Years ago there was a toy called ‘Fuzzy Felt’, where everything in the pack was made from pieces of felt that stuck to each other; the people, animals, objects were all pre-made but the pictures created by using them was the art. Maybe not works of art, but art and creations all the same. You just have to be creative in how you use whatever is available to you. You could always save the picture you create in one program with one set of tools and then edit it in another with whatever tools are available there. No, definitely not cheating. 🙂🎨

  2. That was so sweet of You! Strange times indeed!!! My neighbor went to buy flour the other day and there was none. She says flour is the new toilet paper! 😅And I love Your exploratory painting! What did You buy? Looks really fun and cool! Cheers!!! ❤️❤️❤️

  3. I love all those textures, especially the girl’s hair. I’m also working with an up-dated version of Eye Candy. Right now I’m using the free trial version and when it runs out, I’m going to buy it. I mostly use free art plugins, but sometimes they won’t work in PaintShop Pro. It’s fun seeing all the stuff you can do with new programs. 😊❤
