It’s been such a strange week and a very stressful three and a half weeks chasing hospital letters only to find the consultant was away for a week and he needed to sign the typed up letter. 😤 After I pushed and pushed someone else signed it 😏
Then I had to chase my doctors surgery to be finally told on my birthday 🎂 that I would be referred to the Warfarin clinic and that usually took up to two weeks. At those words I exploded and asked for my doctor to ring me which she did after surgery. My worry was that if I’m to have another echocardiogram booked for three months into the consultation I was almost a third into the time slot and hadn’t even started taking the warfarin.
My doctor was great and said she would sort it. The day after I got a phone call to tell me that I had an appointment today at a hospital ten miles away at 10am. Once there I saw a lovely lady who went through everything and gave me a prescription which is a starter pack of various strengths of warfarin. I have to take my first tablet at 6pm tonight and then at 6pm every night after. I have to go to another hospital nearer home next Tuesday and Friday for blood tests so they can find the correct dosage.
She told me I look really well and to be honest I feel really well 😀 I’m hoping that these tablets do the trick and if it is a blood clot it will have reduced or even better disappeared when I have my next scan.
Looks like she’s found another sleeping place!
