Awake in the night!

After having a fall, mum is now in hospital! Nothings broken thank goodness but they need to keep her in until they can get her back on her feet again. My sister and I went to see her yesterday and she was telling us that she had been seeing things in the night. She said she had heard a tapping on the window and my sister and I were dressed in nurses uniforms whilst my dad who is passed nine years ago was hovering above us. She said she was waving to us. πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

Apparently she was badly dehydrated and has a urine infection which could account for both her dizziness and the hallucinations πŸ˜‰ The staff are lovely and are trying to get her back on her feet and home again where she wants to be.

Luckily there is a cancer specialist nurse based at the hospital and although she didn’t get to see mum yesterday hopefully she will today. The main aim is to keep her as comfortable and pain free as possible.

Our lives seem to have changed so much over the last few weeks and I am not being negative but I am aware that it is only going to get worse. She won’t get better and only has months to live.

She has had a good life with very little illness, she has seen her grandchildren and great grandchildren all come into the world which is a blessing and at the age of 87 her time is almost up.

I feel reassured that she is in good hands and I should be sleeping like a baby but obviously I’m not because I’m writing this. πŸ™„

I’m missing painting out my emotions, hopefully I will get a chance to paint later today.

Cherish your loved ones, tell them that you love them because everyday with them in your life is a blessing. 🌹
