share your world

Do you ever sit on a park bench for more than 10 minutes?

๐ŸŒน
If I find the right bench in the right spot I can sit there for hours, it would probably be near water or the sea. I love nothing more than people and water watching.

๐ŸŒน
When you lose electricity in a storm, do you light the candles, turn on the flashlight or use your cell phone light?

๐ŸŒน
We have not lost power in a storm for years in England due to most of the electricity cables now being located underground. ย In the old days we would light a candle.

๐ŸŒน
Would you rather be given $10000 for your own use or $100000 to give anonymously to strangers?

I have to be honest here, although we donโ€™t own our own house or have much disposable income I wouldnโ€™t want or need that amount of money. Nor do I think that any of our children need it either. (Itโ€™s good to struggle occasionally, itโ€™s character building) ย I used to think that money brought happiness but I have since learned that it is not the case. True happiness does not come through money. True happiness comes from within. We all have it, we just need to accept what we have.

๐ŸŒน

Therefore I would love to give money to people who desperately need it, the homeless, the starving, the organisations that find cures for people suffering.

๐ŸŒน
What inspired you or what did you appreciate this past week?

๐ŸŒน
So many people inspire and amaze me everyday on this site, because a lot are facing difficult times whilst remaining positive, I have to be in awe of that. ย ๐ŸŒน

  1. I love people watching and sitting on a bench is so ideal for that. Especially on a beautiful spring or summer day, but winters can be awesome if bundled up and autumn is so beautiful. People, however, are so interesting diverse complex. It’s wonderful to watch their interactions, a flicker of a smile as a memory takes hold or children playing. Hey, a little money couldn’t hurt! and snicker snicker I’ve had all the character building I could use for 10 lifetimes over haha but I’m with you, if I ever received a fortune, I’d disperse it to those truly in need. Living on the island, we’ve had countless power outages and candles were perfect amid the sudden silence that permeated the air. Most of all, I love being here, interacting with such a fabulous group of people who rise above, think positively, whether quietly overcoming some adversity in their lives or sharing treasured moments.

      1. Thank you Elaine, I think it’s beautiful! Many coming from the States suggest we take the purity and beauty for granted. Not the case! For me anyway. If I could have added another dimension to my life, it would have been traveling…seeing the world and England would have been on my agenda as well as France and Italy.

              1. lol. I figured the snow would stay since we had an exceedingly hot summer, the winter’s are usually exceedingly cold and all the cats have gained their winter fur and fat so I’m thinking it’s going to get real cold and last longer. They are predicting 2 ft. more snow this winter over last so..I’m probably right in my assumptions

  2. I have a canopied swing in the backyard in which I just love to swing and watch nature, the sky, and my dogs play (with a cat cuddled next to me). On the front porch, I have a regular old, wooden porch glider in which I enjoy sitting and watching cars and people go by… or nothing at all.

I really care for the street people and throughout the years I have quietly helped with a bit of money when I could. If I had money rain down upon me, I’d help the homeless people as well as the animals in the animal shelters and the wildlife refuges.

Elaine, you inspired me this week with your loving, kind response to my blog post. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. The homeless come into my mind every time Iโ€™m laid in my warm bed and itโ€™s cold or raining outside. When Iโ€™ve read in the past that we agree to our rebirth and various hardships it make me feel inspired by everyoneโ€™s journeys through life and although Iโ€™ve had difficulties in the past I have been very fortunate โฃ๏ธ
